Operating Systems Familiarization

If you’re just starting out as an operator in Computer Network Operations and have little experience using Microsoft Windows, Unix, or Linux operating systems then this is the course for you! Operating System Familiarization has been developed to transform normal everyday computer users into power users with elite command line skills. For five days you’ll practice using Microsoft Windows, Fedora Linux, and Solaris Unix as an administrator would using the command shell most of the time. At ANRC we believe if you can administer these operating systems using the command line not only will you know your way around the operating system you’ll also do much better at scripting and automating tasks when you graduate into programming further down your career path. This highly practical, instructor led demonstration course is a must for any aspiring operator!

Course Information:

5 days, MF, 40 hours. A certificate of completion will be given at the end of the course. Each student will be provided with a preconfigured laptop with all course training software for use during the class. Students receive a USB Flash Drive of Labs and Tools used in the class on the last day of training.
